Health Insurance Cover and Payment for Chiropractic

Health Insurance Cover for Chiropractic

Chiropractors are government registered primary health care practitioners.

Chiropractic treatment at our clinic on Kensington Road is covered by private health insurance, Veterans Affairs, Motor Vehicle Accident Scheme, Workcover and the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan.

You don’t need a general practitioner’s referral to make an appointment – except for Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and Enhanced Primary Care Plan patients, where direct billing to Medicare occurs.

Private Health Insurance

Consultation fees are claimable under the ancillary extras cover of your private health insurance, with varying rebates dependant upon your individual level of cover.  For your convenience the clinic is equipped with a HICAPS/EFTPOS terminal so that health fund reimbursements can be made electronically at the time of each visit, so you only pay the gap.

Medicare, DVA, MVA and Return to Work

Compulsory Third Party (Motor Vehicle Accident) and Work Cover SA

Compulsory Third Party and Workcover claims are billed directly to the insurer after the claim has been accepted.

Veterans Affairs

We proudly accept Adelaide veterans for chiropractic treatments. Veterans are covered by Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) for chiropractic services.  A referral from the veteran’s general practitioner is required at the time of consultation. The cost is then billed directly to DVA.

Enhanced Primary Care Plan / Medicare

Patients with complex or chronic conditions maybe covered by Medicare for up to 5 chiropractic consultations. You need to discuss this with your general practitioner to see if you are eligible.  If you are eligible, your general practitioner needs to complete an Enhanced Primary Care Plan for you (your general practitioner is reimbursed by Medicare to complete this plan for you).  This must be given to the clinic at the initial consultation.
